tfd@the tron

Tuesday 9th – Saturday 13th March 2010
3 plays, 1 packed week, no over 21s.

Click here for the full tfd takeover week schedule.

What is tfd?

tfd is three plays from the National Theatre of Scotland by three brilliant writers. There's a brand new play by Douglas Maxwell, the first play by novelist Cathy Forde and a new play written live on stage every night by Rob Drummond. All of our writers are giving us regular updates from the rehearsal room on the National Theatre of Scotland blog pages.

As part of tfd we are taking over the Tron Theatre in Glasgow for one week. This week will be packed with an exclusive series of events and performances for under 21s. It’s a chance to go backstage, get involved and see world class theatre up close.

Buying a ticket to any or all of the plays during this week lets you see the shows and gives you the chance to go backstage, meet the cast or quiz the writers.

Who’s it for?

The week is open to school groups, youth groups, youth theatres, drama classes, students - anyone and everyone under 21*

Events and workshops

During the week, there will be a series of free events and workshops in the Tron Theatre shortly before and after the performances. These will include backstage tours, technical sessions and opportunities to meet the cast, writers and the director, Vicky Featherstone.

How to get involved

1. Pick the show or shows you want to see during the week.
2. Buy your ticket at the Tron Theatre Box Office (see below for details).
3. Sign up for the free events and workshops you want to take part in.
4. Turn up, get a goody bag and see what happens.

Some useful information

Events will run from 5pm and finish no later than 10.30pm.
There will be very reasonably priced food available for everyone before the performances.
Because the Tron Theatre is a licensed venue, tfd audiences will be issued with wristband to indicate under 18s.

* tfd contains strong language and is unsuitable for under 12s. Teachers considering bringing younger teenagers should contact the Box Office in advance for advice on content and suitability.
